Russell Parr is President of
Intellectual Property Research Associates, IPRA, Inc.,
an affiliate of Brody Berman Associates. For the past 20
years Russell has been focused on intellectual property
valuation. His ten books about intellectual property
value and management are published in Japanese, Korean,
Italian and English. Russell’s analyses and opinions are
used to facilitate, among other objectives, licensing
transactions, mergers, acquisitions, transfer pricing
and joint ventures. IPRA Inc.’s clients include domestic
and foreign corporations, law firms, individuals,
financial institutions, investors and universities.
Russell has conducted valuations and royalty rate
studies in many areas of technology, science and
manufacturing, as well as for published works and
characters. Past assignments have included the valuation
of the patent portfolio of AT&T and the Dr. Seuss
copyrights. He has testified more than 30 times at
deposition, trial or arbitration about the value of
companies and intellectual property, and has provided
expert testimony regarding intellectual property
infringement damages.
IPRA Inc. publishes three royalty rate resource books
that report detailed information about the economic
aspects of intellectual property transactions, including
licensing and joint ventures. In 1990, Russell founded
the Licensing Economics Review for reporting worldwide
royalty rate information. He serves on the editorial
advisory boards of IP Litigator and The Licensing
Journal. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an
Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Russell holds an MBA
and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers
University.
