Bruce Berman is CEO of Brody Berman Associates, Inc., a
specialized management consulting and communications
firm focusing on technology, finance and professional
services. Brody Berman is best known for helping clients
convey capabilities, manage their reputation and enhance
intellectual asset value.
Bruce has implemented public relations, investor
relations, marketing and business development programs
on behalf of more than 200 businesses, and has counseled
many executives, investors and attorneys. Representative
BBA clients include public and private companies,
consulting firms, licensors, investment banks, and law
firms and practices. Prior to co-founding Brody Berman
in 1988, Bruce served as Vice President, Financial
Relations at Ruder Finn, one of the largest public
relations firms. Previously, he was a Vice President at
RW&Co. (now part of WeberShandwick plc) focusing on
professional services and investment banking clients.
Bruce’s most recent book is From Assets to Profits
– Competing for IP Value & Return. He also
conceived, edited and contributed to Making
Innovation Pay – People Who Turn IP Into Shareholder
Value and From Ideas to Assets – Investing
Wisely in Intellectual Property, a widely
acclaimed book about the business of IP. All of three
books have been published by John Wiley & Sons.
He is a member of the editorial advisory boards of
Intellectual Asset Management, Patent Strategy &
Management and IP Marketing Advisor. His column, IP
Investor, appears regularly in IAM. Articles, chapters
and reviews written by him have appeared in many
periodicals, including Nature Biotechnology,
Intellectual Property Today, The National Law Journal,
Corporate Legal Times, Managing Intellectual Property,
and The Book of Investing Rules (Financial
Times Prentice Hall, 2003), which The Motley Fool called
one of ten most useful investment books.

contributed to, was published in London in 1999. Bruce
has served as co-chair of the Financial Markets
committee of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) and
helped to introduce Unseen Value, the Brookings
Institution’s seminal study on IP assets.
Bruce has provided testimony as an expert witness in
litigation involving misuse of marketing resources. He
has guest lectured at Columbia University School of
Business, and chaired panels for The Wall Street
Transcript IP conference on ROI, the Intellectual
Property Owners’ Association “patent trolls” conference
in Washington and at Center for Intellectual Property
Studies conferences in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Bruce received a Masters degree in film scholarship from
Columbia University, where he taught for four years
while completing the course and comprehensive
requirements for the Ph.D. He received his Bachelor of
Arts in literature with honors from The City College of
New York. |
